I just started playing ROSE Online a few days ago and I find it to be a pretty good game. The only problem with this game and a few people on there seem to think I'm being unreasonable for mentioning it in their forum is the constant barrage of spam in the general chat, world chat, and even the whisper chat channels from the spam bots. Sure we can download a plugin someone made from the game's forum to add a ignore function to the chat but how can we play the game if we're having to spend all our time on there typeing in bot names to ignore. It's becoming a full time job trying to keep up since the bot users change the names about 5 times a day. The chat feature of the game is almost totaly unusable because of it and we can't go fight npc monsters or do quests for having to spend all our time entering the names on the ignore list. I have a perfectly simple, two part solution that I've seen work in the past on such games as Voyage Century and RF Online that were once full of spam bots. First IP ban all the spam bots, then update the game so that it requires you to enter a 4 digit pin number as well as your usual username and password to log in. That solution has worked fine in the past on other games so it should work here too. I also think they should start reporting these people to their ISPs and get this stuff stoped.
